23.)ARMY OFFICER'S DAGGER: this is an absolutely magnificent specimen of early construction. Bright mirror-like nickel-silver plated blade, flawless and superb. Cross-graining to finish still quite evident and only the slightest of in/out wear to surface from scabbard action; couple of insignificant oxidation spots here and there. Ricasso is marked with the logo of the Carl Eickhorn firm, the design showing squirrel facing forward and grasping sword that is circa 1935-1941. Complete with brown leather buffer pad. Perfect nickel silver finish to cross-guard and to pommel. These metal components are superbly detailed and heavily plated. Nickel-silver has toned to an absolutely pleasing sterling-like patina and the eagle details to cross-guard are oh so delightful as evidenced by our photographs. This stunning officer's dagger displays the desirable dark orange celluloid grip, the so-called 'pumpkin orange' shade that is so infrequently encountered out there. Nickel-silver finish on reverse of cross guard is completely intact and shows a couple of light bubbles to surface. Nickel-silver finish on scabbard is likewise intact and shows a matching patina overall. No dents or lifting to finish on scabbard, no wear to finish whatsoever. This is a superb+ example. You will not be disappointed. SOLD
