.)GRAND CROSS OF THE ORDER OF THE GERMAN EAGLE; SPECTACUALR EARLY 1960'S COPY: stunning, massive, 1960's copy intended to deceive and indeed a super-impressive piece of workmanship. There is little about this otherwise super+ piece that would indicate that it's a forty+ year old copy; it indeed appears to be a genuine period specimen. Correct dimension 81mm wide nickel-silver starburst, huge and weighty. Now darkly toned with a convincing patina. With separately applied 43mm wide Eagle Order device having white glass enamel center on gold finished frame. Four finely detailed gold finished eagle devices, one in each quadrant. With white glass enamel backgrounds on swastika details. With 8mm wide high quality nickel-silver hinge and long, tapered nickel-silver pin that curves up at tip where engaged with 'C' hook clasp. With two hollow rivets on reverse. Unbelievably impressive early copy. EXC++$795.00. To Order
.)ALLGEMEINE-SS M35/40 DOUBLE DECAL HELMET; REPRODUCTION: genuine Third Reich period M35/40 shell on this very nicely restored reproduction steel helmet. Shell has been refinished with a dull black enamel paint and then convincingly scuffed and scraped with age and wear. Shows even wear to black finish around rim as is so common with genuine period pieces. Both decals, national colors and SS runes are nicely aged (national colors decal is quite convincingly yellowed with age). I really like this helmet. Originally a true German Third Reich military helmet left in Norway at war's end (some 40,000 or so were recovered by the Norwegian military), even the original Third Reich German Army brush stroked finish is evident beneath the restored smooth black surface on this example. Interior of shell is brush-stroked with replacement field green finish. Still with its original Norwegian pigskin leather liner (looks and feels very much like a true Third Reich leather liner!) with drawstring. Underside of shell skirt is Third Reich marked with maker 'ET' for the "Eisenhuttenwerke, Thale" and with shell size 64. Rear of helmet skirt is marked with production code '1379'. Black leather chinstrap is a current reproduction but nonetheless a good one at that. Wonderful display item. EXC++$295.00.To Order
.)9-PLACE IMPERIAL/THIRD REICH RIBBON BAR; REPRODUCTION: impressive early copy from the 1960's intended to deceive. Nearly 6" long and shows 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class; Prussian Hohenzollern Knight's Cross with Crown and Swords; Imperial State of Saxony Knight's Cross with Crown and Swords; 1914-1918 Cross of Honor with Swords for combatant; two Third Reich Wehrmacht Long Service Medals having gold and silver miniature eagle devices; 1938 Austrian Campaign Medal; 1938 Czechoslovakian Campaign Medal; Memellandes Campaign Medal. Ribbon bar has dark blue wool backing fabric and long brass pin. Ribbons themselves as well as metal devices are all original period, however this otherwise fine ribbon bar grouping was put together some forty+ years ago. Shows mild age. Clean. EXC++$165.00. 54.)REPRODUCTION THIRD REICH POLICE MOUNTAIN EXPERT'S BADGE: an absolutely splendid early 1960's copy of the highest quality, a stunning reproduction of this otherwise very rare police qualification badge known as the 'Gendarmerie Alpine-abzeichen'. Exact dimensions, 34x63mm, of heavy, thick and solid nickel-silver alloy and with separately applied eagle device in center. Wreath is detailed with raised relief edelweiss flowers, 'Gendarmerie Alpinist' scroll at top is set into a green glass enamel field. Reverse has correct wide spring hook fastener and two high quality domed rivets. Crisply maker marked 'L.Klein, Wien'. Exceptional copy in every respect. SOLD
.)GERMAN ARMY PARATROOPER'S HELMET, REPRODUCTION BATTLEFIELD SOUVENIR: a really impressive battle damaged piece that will take close examining to reveal its spurious nature. Absolutely convincing reproduction shell that has camouflaged finish and is aged to an extent that it looks so much like a battle-damaged war souvenir! Both decals are scuffed and scarped and appropriately aged, really unbelievable. With heavy gauge camouflage wire around base and with three metal hooks for fastening to shell. Battle damage is evident to rear of shell where fracture to metal has occurred from impact by shrapnel. With reproduction leather liner that's been appropriately age. Even has shrapnel holes to leather from same battle damage that caused fracture to shell. Liner is ink stamped with all the appropriate size markings as well as 'RB' number. No chinstrap assembly. You will absolutely love this reproduction, obviously it was made to deceive. SOLD
.)GERMAN CROSS IN GOLD REPRODUCTION: heavy, solid piece of six-piece construction with separately applied black glass enamel swastika on separately applied bright silver metal field. Finely detailed gold finished wreath - also a separate component -- with '1941' date. Red enamel field beneath wreath is similarly a separate piece as are the two components of the starburst; on is the correct burnished brown metal, the other silver finished. Entire cross is massive and thickly constructed. Reverse has the correct wide high quality hinge and long tapered silver pin. With four rivets on reverse. This is a superb copy in its own right. SOLD
.)8-PLACE RIBBON BAR; QUALITY REPRODUCTION: obviously an old copy from the 1960's given its accumulated age. This is a handsome ribbon grouping and splendidly put together by someone who knew what they were doing. Shows eight imperial and Third Reich awards, 5" long with field gray wool backing fabric and long brass pin. Looks completely like an original period piece! Award grouping shows 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class with 1939 Spange clasp for second award; 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords; rare 1914-1918 Imperial State of Wurttemburg Order of Military Merit with Crown and Swords; 1914-1918 Cross of Honor with Swords for combatant; Wehrmacht Long Service Medal with gold eagle device; Third Reich Memellandes Campaign Medal with miniature medal device (this miniature is super-finely detailed!); 1914-1918 Austrian Campaign Medal; 191-1918 Hungarian Campaign Medal. Impressive grouping. SOLD
.)REPRODUCTION CASED LUFTWAFFE PILOT'S BADGE: nice copy, actually pretty impressive. A solid and heavy piece of correct dimensions. Crisp and sharply defined, of particular note being the fletching on eagle's wings as well as its sharply detailed talons. Actually better defined than most original pieces. Eagle has tarnished somewhat and has assumed a rather appealing age to it. Dull silver wreath is also well detailed. Reverse has high quality hinge and long round pin that comes to point. 'C' hook catch and with two domed rivets. Back of eagle is marked with stylized letter 'A' logo for the Assmann firm. Comes in reproduction blue leatherette case, correctly 3 x 3 ¼" with blue velvet slotted insert and padded blue satin upper interior. Functioning spring button catch. With gold embossed title on lid "Luftwaffen=Flugzeugfuhrer Abzeichen". Case is also a superb+ copy. EXC++$195.00. To Order
