G994.CASED IMPERIAL GERMAN NAVY NAVIGATOR'S INSTRUMENT SET: complete set of all nineteen pieces being dividers, protractors, all the extensions, pieces and parts. I took a few drafting course way back in the day and I used to know the names of all these various drawing instruments. I can still use them pretty effectively but I don't recall what all of them are named. All of these implements are set into a removable black velvet lined tray. Comes in 7x12" brown wooden case, hinged and with latches at front. Dove-tailed wooden construction. Embossed on the lid with imperial Prussian royal crown and letter 'M' for German navy property (Kaisermarine). Upper interior lid is hinged and opens to reveal a 5x9" nickel composition protractor. Tray with instruments is removable too and has compartment below for navigator's utensils....pencils, erasers, etc. Gold printed maker on inside lid 'Steger Jr. Kiel'. Protractor is marked too with this instrument maker. Outstanding imperial German nautical piece. If one of the nautical collectibles guys had this to offer the price would easily be $1,500! EXC++++

One of the two latches on this wooden box is broken. The latch is separately still present inside the case.
