OC390.)WWII IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY OFFICER'S DRSSS TUNIC AND TROUSERS: a totally spectacular piece of workmanship. Exquisitely tailored of an officer quality melton cloth wool, 14 frosted gold chrysanthemum button front and piped with crimson wool down the front panels. Magnificently tailored. 2" tall stand-up crimson wool collar embellished with stunning gold bullion hand embroidered workmanship. Slip-on gold bullion braided cord shoulder boards are original to this tunic. Each has three separate silver star rank devices for Imperial Japanese Army captain. At cuffs are gold bullion quatrefoil embellishments, crimson wool with three gild chrysanthemum buttons each. Rear is pleated with crimson piping, frosted gold chrysanthemum buttons. Inside is machine embroidered Japanese tailor's label 'OTSU, TOKUMOTO'. There are five long loops on the chest for medal bar (this series of loops is 6" long). With 2" wide officer's sword sash having tassels at front. Minor wear to this sash. Matching trousers with 2" crimson stripe down the side, slash pockets at front. With buttoned fly at front. Tunic is about a US size 36 and the trousers have a 36" waist. Ask for more up-close and detailed photos should you be interested in buying this uniform.
