Clasp has been recently examined by an expert and approved as being genuine period. It's constructed of a handsome bronze alloy and attractively patinaed with years of mellow aging. Separately applied silver alloy LW eagle device with wide, hollow rivet on the back. High quality bronze alloy and tapered bronze pin that's slightly curved on the tip. No maker. Comes with formal award document for the 'Frontflug=Spange fur Transportflieger in Bronze' (Combat Flying Clasp in Bronze for Transport Airman). Printed at top with Transport Clasp motif and 'Verleihungskunde Im Namen des Oberbefehlshapers der Luftwaffe' (Award Document In the Name of the Luftwaffe High Command). With typed details named to LW NCO 'Feldwebel Heinz Burgard' and with date at headquarters 'O.U., den 5.4.1942'. Signed at base by his group commander 'Oberstlt. und Gruppenkommandeur'. With crisp issueing agency eagle/swastika ink stamp and feldpost number '39546'. Document is in a superb state of preservation and has been folded in center. EXC++++

Note that the website Feldpost Number Data Base shows that the feldpost number '39456' was the Luftwaffe transport outfit '1.Gruppe Luftlander-Geschwader 1'. This was a transport unit for LW paratroopers and LW glider towing. See below.
