RD593.)CASED LUFTWAFFE OBSERVER'S BADGE: stellar vintage forgery that just came out of a long-standing mid-West collection. It was bought years ago as genuine. This is the lightweight, wartime, specimen with silver-finished aluminum wreath, gun metal blackened eagle motif. Reverse has two perfect rivets. With 13mm wide barrel hinge and long, pointed pin. Back of eagle is marked with maker 'JIMME & SOHN, BERLIN'. Comes in 3 x 3 1/2" dark blue leatherette case with silver embossed title 'Beobachterabz.' (Observer's Badge). Inside of case is lined with plush blue velvet and is slotted to perfectly accommodate hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior of case is lined with dark blue satin. Case is hinged and has functioning spring button catch. EXC++++
