The shell surely appears to be genuine period and has been expertly refinished, just a stunning helmet. Smooth field green finish is flawless and perfect as are both high quality decals. This is a true M35 steel helmet and has the early type, separately applied ventilation flanges. KM decal shows a pronounced golden shade. A high quality post-war coffee-with-cream pigskin leather liner, soft and supple and perfect too. Has zinc alloy liner band that's marked in several places (appears to be genuine period, '1943' dated?). Ink stamped with liner size '56'. Underside of shell is die-struck with familiar 3rd Rch maker's code and size 'Q64'. At rear is die-struck production code '797'. High post-war quality black leather chinstrap with gray-finished adjustment buckle. Tip of chin strap is marked with maker and date 'Ehrhardt & Kirsten, Leipzig 1940'. Rear helmet skirt is hand painted with owner's name 'Wilhelm Marschall'. Outstanding all around. EXC++++
