OC609.)CASED DDR EAST GERMAN NAVAL OFFICER'S DAGGER: fabulous circa 1970's DDR Volksmarine dress dagger in a superb state of preservation. Immaculate nickel-plated steel blade with double-groove. Minor in/out wear from scabbard action only. Ricasso is die-struck with serial number '04519' and has its brown leather buffer pad. Burnished, gold-finished cross-guard and pommel, ivory shade composition grip. Pommel has DDR communist emblem. On the back of the cross-guard is spring button for locking dagger into scabbard. Gun-metal blued scabbard, flawless, and with gold finished and burnished fittings....scabbard throat and drag. Comes in 6x17" red leatherette case, hinged and with two latches at front. Inside of case is lined with fitted maroon velvet and holds dagger in one compartment and officer's hangers in the other. Hangers are very similar to the earlier 3rd Rch type. Straps are gold litzen on navy blue velvet underlay and with acanthus adorned, functioning spring clips. EXC++++
