G3274.)BOXED IMPERIAL AUSTRIAN RED CROSS SERVICE MEDAL: really a fetching imperial award for female recipient of the Austrian Red Cross. Silver oval pendent detailed with glass enameled wreath. In center are two angels grasping glass enameled red cross shield and with latin inscription below 'PATRIAE AC HUMANITATI' (For Country and Humanity). Reverse has '1914' date and the year too that the Austrian Red Cross was founded '1864'. Clean ribbon tied in elaborate bow configuration for female recipient. Pin-back device. Comes in 4" square white cardboard carton with velvet insert recessed to hold both pendent and ribbon. Lid on carton is printed with red cross, Austrian Red Cross motto and dates. Also marked with letters' 'KD' for Kriegsdienst (wartime service). Just a lovely award. EXC++++
