Similar to a military gasmask but much lighter. Has the same type of field green elastic cloth head harness. Separate metal alloy filter that's marked with Reiches-Luftschutz (German Air Raid Protection) designation 'RL1' and date '38/6'. Also ink stamped with German military waffenamt eagle/swastika proof mark indicating that this gas mask was approved for military use too. The rubber mask is also waffenamt eagle proofed. With printed instruction sheet titled 'Die Deutsche Volksgasmaske' (The German People's Gasmask) along with Gebrauchsanweisung (Instructions on Usage). Model is for the German 'VM40' or 1940 type People's Mask and with designation letter 'F' for feuer (smoke inhalation). In a pristine state of preservation. EXC+++++
