G563.)3rd RCH GERMAN RED CROSS AWARD DOCUMENT: needless to say, a very rare award document. I've only examined a few of these over the last 45 years or so and this one is particularly desirable as it it signed by the head of the 3rd Rch period German Red Cross, the imperial German royal personality the Duke of Saxon-Coburg and Gotha. Large formal award document, 10x14" and printed on fine paper stock. Has been fold in fours. With printed red cross motif at top and titled 'Mit Zustimmung des Fuhreres und Reichkanzlers' (With the Approval of the Fuhrer and the National Chancellor). Recognizes this recipient's volunteer work and special service to the German Red Cross. Named in an elaborate hand-inscribed script to school principal 'Herrn Schuldirektor Egon Fischmann' and dated at Berlin 22.Febr.1937'. Award him the 'die Zweite Klasse des Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Roten Kreuz' (2nd Class Honor Cross of the German Red Cross), that would be the Red Cross breast cross. Boldly signed in ink by the head of the German Red Cross 'Carl Eduard, Herzog von Sachsen=Coburg und Gotha, Prasident des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes'. Has crisp and bold embossed German Red Cross seal at the base with DRK eagle/swastika. This document will be opened up flat and shipped flat, not folded. EXC++++
Note the link below to Wikipedia write-up on the Duke of Saxe-Coburg, a key 3rd Rch personality. He was German royalty and served in the First World War then during the 3rd Reich as an SA-Obergruppenfuhrer, German army general officer (11942-1944) and head of the 3rd Rch German Red Cross (1936-1939).
