Tailored of a quality LW charcoal-gray wool and piped around the crown and around the upper/lower black mohair wool cap band with brown wool for signals personnel. Both the cockade and LW eagle device are stamped aluminum alloy and are orignal to this cap. Black patent leather chin strap with black-finished metal buckles....fastened at sides with smooth, black-finished domed buttons. Smooth black patent leather visor -- completely intact and perfect -- and with checkered, green underside. Completely intact and perfect light brown (coffee-with-cream) pigskin leather sweat band, all stitching is robust and strong. Lined inside with typical brown oilcloth fabric and with completely intact, clear, celluloid moisture shield. Printed with cap maker hat maker 'Felix Weisbach, Mutenfabrik' =(Hat Maker) and 'Deutsche Werkabreit' (Fine German Workmanship). Also printed with the year that this cap was made 'Lieferjahr 1937'. Boldly ink stamped on the underside of the sweat shield with date '1938' and signals outfit 'L.N.E.A.II14' (Luftnachtrichten Abteilung, 14th Regiment). Size is about a European '56'.
