G647.)GERMAN ARMY TROPICAL SUN HELMET: a superb state of preservation. Olive-brown woolen felt body with screw-on ventilation dome at top. Has gray-green leather trim around the entire rim; leather is soft and supple and perfect as is the leather chin strap which has two metal adjustment buckles. Both the Wehrmacht eagle and national colors shields are original to this sun helmet and are likewise perfect. No mothing to woolen felt. Interior of helmet is lined with red wool while the underside of the sun visor has green linen cloth backing. Has soft and supple and perfectly intact coffee-with-cream shade leather sweat band that's embossed with maker's logo and 'R.&M. WEGENER, BLITZENROD'. Underside of sweat band is ink stamped with size '56' and dated '1943'. Outstanding. EXC++++
