G1063.)LUFTWAFFE CAMOUFLAGED M40 SINGLE DECAL STEEL HELMET: absolutely original in every respect and un-fooled with. M40 single decal steel helmet that has a medium green brush-stroked camouflage application over what clearly appears to be a tropical tan base. Interior of shell shows the original LW blue-gray finish. The camouflage scheme is a disruptive pattern with crisscrossed strokes of medium green enamel. Genuine wear and age to the surface -- not enhanced -- and shows the typical scuffs and scrapes here and there from field use. Typical wear too around the rim. LW eagle decal has been painted around and is nearly 100% intact but for two tiny dings. Underside of helmet skirt is marked with shell's maker and size 'ET64'. Pigskin leather liner is intact, still soft and supple with all the fingers present. Stitching at rear seam is strong and robust. Liner is original to this helmet and is tight. Mild wear to leather where folded over liner band. Has its original brown leather chin strap, intact, soft and supple and with magnetic buckle. Tip is faintly maker marked and is '1938' dated. Ask for more up-close and detailed photos. Just a totally superb, original, LW camouflaged helmet. EXC++++
