G666.)LUFTWAFFE M42 STEEL HELMET: most of the original LW blue-gray finish remains on this helmet and shows typical wear to finish around the rim and on the crown of course as is typical. LW eagle decal was painted over with a graying enamel and the features are evident beneath especially when viewed with a strong glass. Liner shows lots of age and wear from use. It's pretty much intact and isn't fragile, just shows wear at the front where folded over the liner band itself. Pigskin leather is a dark brown now from the years, faintly ink stamped with liner size. Underside of shell's skirt is marked with maker's initials and shell size 'EF66'. With production code at rear. Shows lots of age and wear from use but is in a good state of preservation. EXC+++
