G557.)SA ENLISTED RANKS KEPI: in a great state of preservation but for the sweat band stitching having come undone....needs to be re-sewn. Displays a superb profile and shape. Tailored of typical political-tan twill and with medium blue wool cap band for SA Gruppe-Bayern (Bavaria). At sides are two metal ventilation grommets. Stamped alloy national eagle is original to this kepi; it's silver finished and now toned to a gray tarnished cast. Fine early quality. Below is 17mm wide domed button. Brown leather chin strap with brown-finished adjustment buckles and fastened at sides with smooth, brown-finished, domed buttons. Interior of kepi has typical brown oil cloth lining. Brown leather sweat band is present but shows most of the stitching to have come undone. Beneath sweat band is printed oilcloth RZM tag marked with this cap's designation 'Dienstmutze' (service cap). Faintly ink stamped on the crown with kepi size '59'. Very mild moth tracking to the blue wool here and there; not detracting at all. EXC
