G645.)LUFTWAFFE ENLISTED RANKS CUFF-TITLE; JG-2 FIGHTER WING: for the Luftwaffe's JG-2 or 2nd Fighter Wing, the Jagdgeschwader Richthofen. Quality dark blue melton cloth wool,  full length 17" and 40mm wide.  Light gray machine embroidered details with borders top and bottom folded over on back. With white gauze backing fabric behind the embroidery. Of course, no glowing under a black light. This gem was examined and approved by George Petersen (truly the one-and-only 3rd Rch cloth insignia expert) before his passing back in November. Shows a couple of shallow moth nibbles, not detracting. EXC++++

JG-2 was one of the most storied of the LW's fighter wings. JG-2 fighter pilots flew with both Bf-109's and Fw-190's and campaigned during the Battle of Britain then the Channel coast aerial campaigns; North Africa in 1943 and then in the air defense of the Reich against the Allied bombing offensive.
