A handsome badge and looks great. Yes, it's late war and it radiates all of the hallmarks of the 1943-1944 period. The wreath is a silver-finished zinc alloy and displays a really great looking patina as does the gray metal eagle. Hey, ask for more up close and detailed photos and you'll agree. Reverse of wreath shows much of its original silver frosting which is now dull and gray. Badge has typical assault badge type hinge -- common with the late war pieces -- and long pointed, magnetic pin. Eagle is ever-so-slightly loose, typical of these two although both rivets are pretty perfect. EXC++++
