G829.)SA DAGGER, SO-CALLED 'GROUND ROHM': nice example of the 'Ground Rohm' SA dagger showing the typical age and wear common with these. Clean blade with 'Alles fur Deutscland' etched motto and showing scattered blemishes here and there, minor in/out wear from scabbard action and no rusting. Blade is grayed overall from moisture exposure. Reverse is etched with maker's arrow logo and 'F.Dick'. The Ernst Rohm dedication has been ground off with a couple of very slight evidences of the inscription remaining. Dark brown hardwood grip is intact; no chips nor any cracks. Mild wear to the finish on the grip and a few scuffs here and there. Nickel-silver national eagle motif is snugly installed (no gaps to wood) as is the enameled SA button at top. Nickel-silver plated cross-guards with the lower reverse being die-struck with 'Wm' for SA-Gruppe Westfalen. Pommel nut is intact too, no burrs to surfaces. Early anodized steel scabbard with wear and age evident, scattered oxidation browning too. Nickel-plated scabbard throat and ball. Missing one screw on the lower fitting (can be replaced) and scabbard ball is mildly dented from having been dropped. Ask for more up-close and detailed photos before buying so that you can study the entire dagger....examine too the buffed out inscription. EXC
