G1071.)GERMAN ARMY 3rd RCH CAVALRY OFFICER'S DRESS TUNIC: a spectacular piece of period tailoring, very desirable golden-rod yellow piped officer's waffenrock, a reconnaissance Oberleutnant. Tailored of fine officer quality German army field gray wool with dark green badge cloth wool collar and decorative grenadier cuffs. The shoulder boards -- which are golden-rod yellow wool piped -- have gray wool undelay for reserve troops. Each shoulder board has single gilt rank pip for Oberleutnant and fire gilded '14' for the 14th Reconnaissance Bn. A stunning hand embroidered silver bullion wire breast eagle on dark green badge cloth wool...meticulously hand sewn on. Silver metallic collar tabs are the officer type for the dress tunic and are machine applied. Beautifully piped down the front panels and around the cuffs and on rear grenadier pleats. With two loops on chest for ribbon bar. Interior is lined with greenish-gray satin and has inside pocket and metal waist tightening buckle. Tailor's lable in wearer's neck areas has been worn over time to a ball of thread. However, the tailor's label inside interior pocket is intact 'Barnasch-Hofschneider, Magdeburg' and is named to officer and dated '13.7.38'. Has silver officer's shoulder cord and composition button beneath shoulder board. In a superb state of preservation, a couple of insignificant tiny moth nibbles. Lovely dress tunic. EXC++++
