RD3869.)CASED 1939 KNIGHT'S CROSS WITH OAK LEAVES, SWORDS AND DIAMONDS: a vintage piece circa 1960's. Fine '39 KC that's three-piece construction with smooth, black finished, magnetic center. Crisply detailed beaded edge, genuine silver frame. Note that the dimensions are dead-on accurate at 48mm wide and 54mm tall from the bottom of the lower cross arm to the top of the eyelet. Reverse of KC is equally as impressive as the obverse. Upper frame is marked with silver content '800'. Spectacular set of OL's w/Swds and Diamonds that's '800' marked on the loop. This is the larger size OL's with dimensions being 30x33mm at its widest points. Refer to Gordon Williamson's The Iron Cross of 1939 pages 423-424 for other examples of the 'A Stuck' set of OL's or the Otto Klein specimens, all significantly larger than the standard OL's with Swds. Individually applied brilliants, fifty-one total and with hollowed out area behind each stone to allow light to pass through (makes them more brilliant). Set of OL's is crisply struck and impressive as hell. KC comes in 4x5" black leatherette case, hinged with spring button catch at front. Interior is lined with plush black velvet. This is the deluxe type case with raised up pedestal for KC, deep channel at top for 18" folded length of KC ribbon which does not glow under a black light. Really a lovely vintage counterfeit.
