RD3882.)GESTAPO ID DISC: out of an old collection here in Florida, this one was made to deceive and indeed was thought to be genuine. We've had a few of these recently, all out of the same collection. High quality silver alloy with high relief, coin-like details. Mildly toned but silver frosted on the high relief areas. Note too the raised rim around the edge....dimensions are dead-on accurate at 35x48mm. Reverse has high relief 'GEHEIME STAATSPOLIZEI' along with die-struck serial number to individual agent '5354'.
