RD3891.)CASED LW AIR/SEA RESCUE BADGE: okay, this one is worth raving about. This one was definitely made to screw you, a dangerous and clever old forgery. Fabulous piece and one that was made to appear 'late war' (as this badge should be) but still very much a high quality badge, not junk. Shows age toning, very convincing. Gold finish on wreath is tarnished as are the natural details to the ship motif. LW eagle at top is silver frosted and is separately applied, also tarnished. Reverse has typical assault badge type hinge and long pointed pin. Two flat rivets on the reverse holding the eagle device in place. Back of badge shows semi-hollow configuration (as it should be) and lots of toning to the frosted gold. Comes in 3x4" hinged black leatherette case with spring button catch at front. Inside of case is lined with plush black velvet and is slotted to perfectly hold hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior is lined with padded white satin. Printed with gold lettered 'LDO'. EXC++++
