RD581.)LUFTWAFFE HERMANN GORING TROPICAL FIELD CAP: known in German as the Tropenschirmmutze (tropical umbrella hat), a superb vintage copy made to deceive. Oh, sure, there are copies out there but they are typically pretty crappy quality and easily identified as being counterfeits. This one is so good and so convincing that we had to have a well-known expert reexamine it and render his judgement. You'll agree; it's as fine as any original. Tailored of the correct tropical sun-tan khaki twill with matching soft visor. Displays a perfect shape and profile. Just radiates age and quality. At sides are two brown-finished ventilation grommets. Both the LW eagle and wreath below are BeVo machine embroidered and both are machine applied. Both are on tropical tan silk-like underlay. Brown leather chin strap with black-finished metal adjustment buckles and fastened at sides with brown composition buttons. Has matching neck havelock and with rear composition button. Interior has the correct partial sweat band that's a khaki cotton fabric. Inside is lined with the proper red cotton fabric and is ink-stamped with '1942' date and familiar premiere maker 'Erel' and cap size '58'. Entire pie has been convincingly aged and mildly soiled. Nothing on this cap glows under a black light. EXC++++

If genuine you'd be looking a $2k price tag.
