This is one of those old, vintage gems that you'd consider genuine period but for us telling you that it's a fake. Properly constructed in every respect, aged and convincing as hell. 63mm wide and highly vaulted. Constructed of the five proper components (not including the hinge/pin assembly). Separately applied black glass enameled swastika on now tarnished silver disc. Has red underlay beneath the stamped wreath which is crisp and perfect....has the characteristic nine vertical bars on the '1941' date. With burnished starburst upper level; lower level is now a tarnished nickel-silver. The reverse of this cross is nearly black with toning. Has four donut type rivets (hollowed centers). High quality hinge and tapered nickel-silver pin. Jeweler engraved on the back to recipient 'OBLT. W EULER' along with his outfit and date '1/PZ RGT 36    7.2.43.' With maker's code in the center '134'. Again, the jeweler engraving is aged and very professionally done, perfect. A stellar old copy.
