RD799.)WWII US ARMY PARATROOPER'S STEEL HELMET AND LINER: professionally restored M1-C paratrooper helmet with both the shell and the liner being original WWII period and restored. Shell is pre-November 1943 production as it has the front edging butt seam. Finish is the correct wartime rough cork aggregate application, OD shade #7. Khaki canvas chin strap has been replaced...superb quality workmanship. This is the M1-C type helmet with flexible chin strap loops (the earlier M2 paratrooper helmet was fitted with the round chin strap bales that were welded in place, not flexible). M-1 liner is a true wartime example and it's Firestone Company marked on the interior crown. All of the khaki canvas shade #3 webbing has been restored as has the pigskin leather sweat band. Has khaki canvas duck chin harness and 'Y' straps along with russet brown leather chin cup having chamois liner. Post-war brown leather chin strap snugly fitted over the helmet shell front visor. Great looking and at a great looking price too. All around in a perfect state of preservation. EXC+++++
