RD846.)GERMAN ARMY M35 SINGLE DECAL STEEL HELMET, CAMOUFLAGED: superb piece of workmanship being an old reproduction steel helmet shell camouflaged with a tropical tan application. Surface is covered with rough and heavily textured compound (like zimmerit) which is applied on a tropical tan brush-stroked camouflage finish. Shell is a true M35 with separately applied ventilation grommets at sides. Wear to finish around the rim as typically found with genuine period helmets, nice touch, and the surface shows mild wear and age, light scuffs and scrapes. Wehrmacht eagle decal is pretty much intact; it's been painted around. Decal on opposite side is completely obscured by camouflage application. Has dark brown leather liner which is a post-war copy of course, soft and supple and intact. Zinc liner band. Liner is snugly fitted in place. Underside of shell skirt marked with maker's code 'EM' and large size '68'. A really impressive piece of workmanship. EXC++++
