RD872.)WAFFEN-SS M40 SNOW CAMOUFLAGED SINGLE DECAL HELMET: a clever and dangerous old piece of workmanship and one made to screw you. As fine as any original. Steel helmet is an original period M40 shell that's finished with an aged and super-convincing white enamel application. White camouflage scheme is aged to an ivory-shade and is scuffed and scraped in such a convincing fashion. Evidence too -- if you closely take note -- of where a camouflage netting was in place too. Wear to white enamel around the rim and wear too on the crown. The workmanship is so talented that it's pretty shocking. Super high quality SS runes decal on wearer's right side. Decal has been painted around and is enhanced and aged as shown. All of the scrapes and scratches on the surface of this shell have been brown-oxidized which lends yet another convincing aspect to this restoration. Again, the shell is genuine 3rd Rch ear and the underside of the skirt is marked with familiar maker 'ET64' and production code at rear '6294'. High quality post-war brown leather liner with leather washers and wartime zinc liner band. Leather too is darkened and convincingly aged. Leather is ink stamped with size '57'. Just outstanding.
