US3445.)CASED WWII SELECTIVE SERVICE MEDAL AND AWARD DOCUMENT: document is named to Lynchburg, VA resident 'Henry M Snead' and still in its original wooden frame behind glass. Medal with ribbon bar in its 4x7" black carton with gold printed title on lid 'SELECTIVE SERVICE MEDAL'. Medal is in superb condition, pin-back ribbon bar. Note that the medal is a true WWII era example with slot-brooch mounted pin-back. Case shows wear and age and is missing the lapel hole button for civilian attire. With facsimile Truman signature, document recognizes Snead's volunteer 'patriotic' service. Note the tape on the back is from a Petersburg, VA studio. Some moisture staining to the document , storage age to the frame. Wire hanger still on the back. I picked this up on my last trip through VA. EXC++++
