Dated '14 Mai 1943' and named to 'Unteroffizier Anton Kessler'. He was wounded-in-action on the 2nd of February, 1943. Served with the 2nd Company, 393rd Assault Battalion (2./Strm.Btl.393'). Document awards him the 1939 Wound Badge in Black -- 'Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz' . Signed in ink at base by senior German army physician 'Oberarzt und Chefartz' [rank of Oberarzt=colonel and head physician at this military hospital 'Reserve=Lazerett Neheim' (Rear Area Military Hospital at Neheim) with this officer's eagle/swastika ink stamp.
