OC681.)CIRCA pre-1900 PRUSSIAN HEAVY CAVALRY SABER: from the time of the Franco-Prussian War. Massive heavy cavalry saber, 39" long overall with slightly curved natural steel blade. Shows overall graying and a couple of minor knicks to the edge. No rust, just blemishing and scattered oxidation graying. Has steel cross-guard, natural finish. Ricasso on both sides is marked with 'W' monogram for Wilhelm along with maker 'GB' with crown. Dark brown leather covered grip is completely intact as is the twisted brass wire wrap. Hilt too shows mild age and toning from the years. EXC++++
