US1033.)CASED WORLD WAR ONE PURPLE HEART MEDAL, NAME-ENGRAVED: in a fine state of preservation being the 1932 first-issue type. Typical of that very early issue, excellent quality and attractive as hell. Fine enamel workmanship on burnished gold pendent. Die-struck on rim with low serial number '12683'. With clean ribbon mounted with early, first type, split-brooch pin back mounting. Reverse is U.S. Government machine engraved as issued to recipient 'ROLAND B. CARY'. Comes in black leatherette case with gold printed title 'PURPLE HEART'. Has its original pin-back ribbon bar and enameled lapel device for civilian attire. EXC++++
