OC1036.)WWII ROYAL NAVY OFFICER'S SUN HELMET IN CARRYING CASE: white canvas tropical sun helmet, the military type with broad and tapered rear visor. With six separate white canvas panels all separately applied on hard cork body. Has ventilation dome at crown. Brown leather chin strap is soft and supple and intact. Canvas body is generally clean but shows brown foxing spots here and there from the years and some light soiling. Inside of the visor has green cotton lining and has white oil cloth sweat band. Has paper size label '6 3/4'. Named inside to RN officer 'Everett'. Comes in black-finished 14x17"  tin carrier with handle and is professionally hand-painted with this officer's name 'P.V. Everett, R.N.'. Case is intact and shows the expected age and wear from the years. EXC+++
