RD604.)WORLD WAR ONE IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN GENERAL OFFICER'S FIELD SERVICE TUNIC: a truly spectacular piece of German-made tailoring, outstanding. Constructed of a quality herring-bone-twill field gray wool and piped down the front panel with general officer crimson wool. Piped too around the collar and around the turn-back cuffs. Eight crown buttons at front and buttoned too on the crimson-piped grenadier pleats at lower rear waist. 3" tall stand-up collar with machine sewn on general officer's collar tabs of the highest quality. These are the imperial type with gold bullion wire details hand embroidered on crimson wool. Shoulder boards are massive and are impressive quality too. So attractively toned with patina and on crimson wool base, crown button at shoulder. Tunic has four pockets all with flaps; typical wartime construction not having buttons. On wearer's left breast are five loops for two badges, six loops above for long ribbon bar. Interior is lined with a field green satin and has large inside pocket. Tunic is about a US size '42' long or perhaps closer to a '44'. EXC+++++
