RD747.)GERMAN ARMY GENERAL STAFF OFFICER'S UNIFORM: truly spectacular piece of tailoring, as fine as any original period German uniform. Officer quality field gray wool, four-pocket M36 tunic with pleated patch pockets above. All pockets have scalloped flaps. Eight button front, all buttons are subdued silver pebbled. Turn-back cuffs and dark green badge cloth wool collar. All of the insignia appears to be original period. Collar tabs are meticulously hand sewn on, perfectly done. Hand embroidered wartime subdued silver bullion embroidery on dark green badge cloth wool....these are for German army administrative official. Shoulder boards are also totally superb; wartime subdued silver bullion braided cord with two frosted gold rank pips for German army colonel. Carmine wool underlay for general staff personnel. Pips are positively genuine period and both shoulder boards have that typical screw-on button mounting. Shoulder boards are a matched pair for opposite sides. Flawless and perfect silver bullion wire officer's breast eagle on dark green badge cloth wool, flawlessly hand sewn on by tailor. Eight loops for ribbon bar over wearer's left pocket; four sets of loops on left pocket for a total of four badges. Two loops on opposite pocket for German Cross in Gold. Russian Front Medal ribbon in the second button hole. Interior of tunic is lined with typical satin-like fabric and has interior pocket. Riding trousers are similarly fantastic tailoring. Officer quality gray wool with carmine wool side stripes -- general staff. Trousers have flared hips and narrow, buttoned calves. Buttoned slash pockets at sides and metal adjustment buckles at sides. Tunic is about a US size '42 long' and trousers have a 39/40" waist. Very faint evidence on inside lining near pocket where the previous owner's name tag -- very small -- was removed before we received it. Cannot praise the quality of workmanship, tailoring and materials of this primo uniform. You won't be disappointed. EXC++++
