RD789.)STALINGRAD CAMPAIGN SHIELD: splendid vintage fantasy piece (the Stalingrad Campaign Shield never was authorized, of course). Unbelievably convincing old fake, stamped magnetic shield, slightly vaulted in constitution. Well detailed and impressively crisp. Shows raised relief details being the Stalingrad Cross motif found on shoulder boards along with superimposed national eagle/swastika. Inscription is dates '1942  1943' and 'Stalingrad'. Mounted to LW gray wool backing fabric and has typical brown paper backing, aged and very convincing. Has magnetic backing plated evident through the paper as a silhouette and with four metal prongs. Really well made, a real keeper. EXC++++
