RD599.)GERMAN RED CROSS CIVILIAN STYLE STEEL HELMET: an original period M36 civilian style steel helmet that has been professionally restored. Outstanding workmanship all around, impressive. Rough sand-finished DRK gray enamel finished shell, double-decal. On one side is German Red Cross eagle decal, aged and very convincing. On the opposite side is German Red Cross swastika shield. Both are hand-painted with DRK station number '22'. Liner is soft and supple, civilian 'Y' type with yokes and buckled chin harness. Liner is a really fine old reproduction, smooth brown leather. Inside of rear skirt is hand painted with DRK station and number 'Feldlazarett St. Afra, No. 22' (Field Hospital located at Saint Afra). EXC++++
