RD843.)POLICE BULLION WIRE HAND EMBROIDERED SLEEVE EAGLE: spectacular vintage piece of workmanship circa 1970's. Hand embroidered details are sculpted and in three-dimensional relief. Silver bullion wire eagle -- now toned with years of silver tarnish -- and accented with black thread for contrast. Wreath is executed in white cord, hand embroidered, and accented too with black thread. This old gem came out of a long-standing collection where it resided for years as genuine. It's on dark green badge cloth wool underlay and has the correct thin, black tissue, backing. Does not glow under a black light....place it next to a piece of white copy paper and in total darkness. The white paper glows with a purple cast while the white thread on this eagle merely reflects the lavender light. EXC+++++
