RD879.)REICHSMARSHALL GORING'S BATON: splendid older copy of Goring's baton not one of the newer junky pieces. 19" long overall and weighs over three pounds. Weighty, white celluloid covered body adorned with alternating Iron Cross and frosted gold national eagle motifs. Iron Cross designs alternate between the Balkenkreuz type and the Iron Cross order and all are black enameled. Forty separately applied devices overall. Both ends are decorated with frosted gold octagonal fixtures which are encrusted with dozens of rhinestone brilliants. At one end is separately applied LW eagle motif adorned with diamonds. Separately applied presentation inscription 'Der Fuhrer dam Reichsmarshall Goring Grossdeutschland' (From the Fuhrer to Germany's National Marshal). Opposite end has separately applied glass enameled Balkenkreuz device and the date that it was presented (to recognize the victory in the west over France) 'Hermann Goring 19 Juli, 1940'.
