RD1088.)CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE SHELL JACKET, STATE OF LOUISIANA: old, vintage piece of tailoring. Superbly made. Tailored of a typical CW period Confederate gray wool and with nine state of Louisiana state buttons (pelican) at front. This is an infantry shell jacket, waist length and with stand up collar. Tailored of the correct rough and coarse wool, looks totally great. Corporal's chevrons are the correct period type with separately applied black tape on Confederate gray underlay. These are meticulously hand sewn on. I love this shell jacket....the lining is the correct period tan muslin fabric. Inside of one sleeve are is stamped with maker 'C&D Jarnagin, Corinth, Miss.'. Should you research this old company you'll find such comments on-line as below. This one shows mild wear and age, light soiling from use. Hey a real CW Louisiana shell jacket will run you around $30k! EXC++++

Jarnagan's Legacy: Based in Corinth, Mississippi, they served as a foundational, highly regarded supplier of historically accurate American Civil War, Revolutionary War, and early American military uniforms, footwear, and leather accoutrements for decades.
