Only 67,000 of these were minted by the US Mint, silver dollar commemorating the first Chief Justice of the US, P.John Marshall. 40mm wide and bigger than a standard US silver dollar and containing one ounce of pure silver precious metal. Obverse shows profile view of John Marshall along with 'CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE UNITED STATES SUPERME COURT 1801-1835'. Reverse view shows the interior of the Supreme Court with 'One Dollar, United States of America'. Coin is encapsulated in the clear, lucite case of the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), the most prestigious 3rd-party grading firm. On the reverse of case is a reflective hologram, a device which makes counterfeiting the case very difficult. This gem is graded at MS69 or 'Mint State 69' the absolute highest state of preservation (but for MS70). As of this writing silver is valued at $33.00 an ounce so this gem coin is well worth the asking price. The NGC grading alone costs $25.00 per coin! EXC++++
