US1105.)WWII FEMALE PILOT'S GARRISON CAP: light cadet blue-gray wool garrison cap tailored in the typical scalloped fashion for women (to accommodate the mass of hair). Piped around the crown with blue/yellow cord and with clutch-back and with clutch-back AAF 'winged prop' insignia on wearer's left side. Interior of cap is lined with gray satin fabric and has cloth label 'Phila. Quatermaster Depot' and size '7 1/8'. I have had this cap for years. EXC++++

Note the following: this cap is shaped in the crescent configuration of a female type garrison cap; it's tailored of a cadet blue-gray wool (known to the WASPS as Santiago blue); WASPS did not wear the standard USAAF olive brown uniform; this is NOT Civil Air Patrol because it's AAF piped. In short, this is a genuine WWII WASP overseas cp. Nice!
