G529.)GERMAN HOUSE OF CULTURE AND ART 1939 EXHIBITION BOOK: exhibition guide book for the collection of Germanic art on display at the House of German Art in Munich. 6x8" format and 90 pages. An unbelievable display of Aryan art -- the type of art approved only by the NSDAP -- that which radiated Germanic virtues or at least exactly what the Nazi Party deemed to be appropriate for the public's viewing. Titled on cover 'Grosse Deutsche Kunstausstenllung 1939, Im Haus der Deutschen Kunst zu Munchen' (1939 Greater German Art Exhibit, The House of German Art at Munich). Book details the entire collection housed at the museum along with a detailed catalog showing the location of each piece (which hall it was displayed in). Has several floor plan maps of the museum. Book has dozens of black and white photos showing the most popular pieces in the exhibit, with much of the art being contemporary pieces although a few classic, older examples were displayed. Art in the collection included oil paintings (a number being portraits of the key 3rd Rch personalities including Hitler), watercolors and sketches....bronze sculptures and marble. Binding is strong and intact, pages show some foxing here and there. In a good state of preservation.  EXC++++
