G568.)CASED 1939 IRON CROSS 1st CLASS: pin is marked '4' for the premiere Steinhaur & Luck firm. Smooth black-finished center shows some mild oxidation browning. Note too the very minor dent to the beaded edge right at the top of the cross. Nickel-silver frame is dark with patina. Reverse has high quality nickel-silver hinge and tapered silver pin. Back of cross is darkly toned too. Comes in 2 3/4" square case with ivory shade flocced insert that's slotted to fit hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior is lined with padded white satin. EXC++++
