G566.)SS ISSUE STRAIGHT RAZOR: this is a curious piece and I suspect that it's indeed genuine, not a fantasy piece. I will explain. It's super well-made and the silver SS runes are cleverly and separately applied into the black bakelite grips. Straight razor is 6" long with foldout natural steel blade. It's lethal so be careful in handling. Again, silver runes are flawlessly applied and under strong magnification show perfect workmanship in their application. On each side of grips are two nickel-silver rivets holding black bakelite sides in place. Blade is marked with German script 'Feinster Silber Stahl' (Fine Silvered Steel, a high-carbon, specific type of steel used for tools and utensils). Marked below with Russian cryillic characters which I assume translates also into 'Fine Silvered Steel'. Ricasso is marked with German maker 'ERN& Co.Weer-Solingen'. Comes with old hand-inscribed note 'Presented to F.J.Heggler, 563rd Bomb Sqdn, Oct. 11, 1944'.
