Tailored of a quality LW officer's gray wool and piped around the crown and around the upper/lower black mohair wool cap band with silver micro-braided cord. Impeccably hand embroidered LW officer's eagle at front. On LW gray wool and perfectly hand sewn on. Cockade is similarly perfectly hand embroidered on black wool underlay. Both eagle and cockade are original to this cap. Silver bullion wire chin cord fastened at sides with silver pebbled buttons. Smooth black patent leather visor, green checkered underside. Visor is in a great state of preservation, minor wear only. Interior of cap is lined with gray silk-like fabric and has intact, clear, celluloid moisture shield. Maker's logo is evident beneath the shield but is faded from moisture. Soft and supple gray leather sweat band, completely intact, stitching is strong. Has decorative silk bow at rear seam on sweat band. No mothing to wool whatsoever. Shows evidence of light wear and use. Size is about a European '58'. EXC+++++
