This strip of three eagles was examined by George Petersen several months before he passed away and deemed by him to be genuine period examples. The BeVo-Wupperthal factory was located in Wupperthal, Germany, a city that was liberated in late 1945 by the US Army's 78th Infantry Division. I heard stories as a kid about our GI's looting the BeVo-Wupperthal factory and bringing home rolls of genuine German embroidery. This explains how so much German cloth insignia can still be found in this country. 

BeVo refers to a historical German flat-woven textile technique and manufacturer, originating from the Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher in the Barmen district of Wuppertal. The term was originally an acronym for Bandfabrik Ewald Vorsteher.
