G923.)CASED POCKET WATCH, PRESENTATION PIECE TO RAD LEADER HIERL: as presented to Reichsarbeitsdienst leader Konstantin Hierl. 50mm wide genuine silver case with glass face. Watch itself is in a perfect state of preservation. With seconds hand, face is beautifully detailed with a burnished finish. Maker is the familiar German firm Junghans and the watch's model is 'Meister'. Inside of silver case is jeweler engraved with dedication from a miner's union 'Reichsarbeitsfuhrer K. Hierl' and with dates '1890 - 1940' along with 'Gewerkschaft Michel' (labor union). Hinged back cover on watch opens up to reveal watch maker's logo (a bear) along with German proof marks for genuine silver content being crown and half-moon. Also marked with '935' silver content and serial number '334237'. With 11" long watch chain (magnetic) having a decorative fob at the end that appears to be a miner's lamp. Comes in hinged 4x5" black leatherette case with working spring button catch at front. Inside of case is lined with plush blue velvet and has pedestal and recessed area to perfectly hold pocket watch. Upper interior is lined with padded white satin and is printed with gold motif being crossed miner's hammers. Runs perfectly. EXC++++
