Some of these old copies of the National Trade Competition Badge are pretty crappy; this one is a stellar gem. 50mm wide national eagle on white glass enameling which is aged and toned. Fine cloisonné enameling to HJ diamond device. With nickel-silver wreath and base alloy; silvered lettering for 'GAUSIEGER' level of competition and date '1938'. Reverse has high quality hinge and the proper tapered nickel-silver pin too. Marked with familiar maker in high relief lettering 'G.BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN'. Comes in 3" square red leatherette case, hinged and with functioning spring button catch at front. Inside of case is lined with plush ivory shade flocking and is slotted to perfectly accomodate hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior of case is lined with padded white satin. EXC+++++
