US688.)WWII 8th AAF NCO'S IKE JACKET: nice example, clean, no mothing whatsoever. Olive brown wool battle jacket with US-made 8th AAF sleeve patch -- standard machine embroidered on twill type -- and wool S/Sgt's chevrons. All meticulously hand sewn on. On wearer's lower left sleeve are five metal overseas bars for a total of 2 1/2 years and single long service slash. Discharge diamond machine sewn on wearer's upper right chest. Has a lovely machine embroidered USAAF Air Crew Wing meticulously hand applied to left chest above where ribbon bar grouping would have been. On lower left sleeve is British-made engineering sleeve diamond specialty patch. This lovely patch is machine embroidered on dark blue wool and has heavy machine reinforced border. Perfectly hand applied and surely English-made. Inside pocket has printed cloth issue tag that is '1944' dated. Missing the collar brass, easily replaced. EXC++++
